Cuando el convertidor tiende a verter, esto se consigue mediante un movimiento de rotaci\u00f3n. Un freno centr\u00edfugo no puede detener por completo el convertidor, pero puede reducir la velocidad y garantizar as\u00ed un movimiento seguro y controlado. En caso de imprevisto, como una aver\u00eda o un fallo del sistema de accionamiento, los frenos centr\u00edfugos pueden ralentizar el convertidor de forma segura y minimizar as\u00ed los peligros potenciales.
